To our dear clients & patients,
We have been very busy and appointments have been hard to get, and we have been doing our best to get to see you as promptly as possible. Please help us by booking routine appointments in advance and by calling early if you believe your patient may need urgent attention our friendly staff are here to help you.
There are many reasons for this increased demand. Among them are:
- an extreme shortage of veterinary practitioners right across Australia and especially in rural areas and for vets who are prepared to provide out of hours services
- Increased workload in some way related to the COVID-19 epidemic
- reduced services being provided by veterinary practices in surrounding areas due tho these same issues
Our goal is to be able to provide you with convenient appointments for routine and non-urgent appointments within a reasonable time-frame AND to retain sufficient capacity for urgent cases and emergencies in the clinic and on farms. We are actively recruiting for additional vets to assist us in managing your needs.
As we work to serve you better we want you to know how we plan to do this.
Firstly we are holding some appointment slots for urgent cases - these can be booked only on the day of the appointment, If we fill all available slots in advance, there is no leeway for dealing with emergencies and sudden urgent cases.
We are booking necessary follow-up appointments after initial visits.
We are controlling carefully the amount of elective surgery scheduled each day to ensure our vets have availability for emergencies and urgent cases including farm visits.
We are continuing to seek additional excellent practitioners to add to our capacity and to avoid burnout in our current staff.
As we do this there are some temporary consequences that we hope to reduce in the future. These include some delays in routine and preventive appointments.
Please be assured we want to help you and will do everything we can to accommodate distressed patients and urgent cases and emergencies.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
Greg McIntyre and all the team.
