When the surgery office is closed the rostered veterinarian may be contacted by calling 5422 6909 for EMERGENCIES ONLY.
Please always call ahead before coming to the surgery, so we can prepare for your arrival.
Please note during this time we have limited capacity and in some cases patients may need to be referred to After-hours or Specialist clinics for some services or additional care, in the interests of the patient's welfare. If your call is not answered immediately please be patient waiting for a call-back, as the veterinarian on call may be busy attending another patient.
Examples of emergencies requiring a call to the veterinarian over this period would include:
- Snake bite
- Hit by car
- Poisoning
- Seizures
- Severe ear distress
- Significant bleeding (or haemorrhage)
- Difficulty giving birth
- Eye injuries or disease (eye shut, red or cloudy eye)
- Severe pain
- Broken limbs
- Severe injuries or lacerations
- Colic in horses
- Severe allergic reactions
- Breathing Difficulties

After-hours services are subject to significant surcharges depending on the day &/or time of day/night.
Telephone and/or Virtual consultations and advice are charged out depending on the length and type of advice required - charges for basic advice do not usually apply to patients currently under active care (post-operative cases from our clinic or patients with a current illness).
Please be considerate of our on call vets - they are responding from home and family life. Please call them ONLY for genuinely urgent matters.
